Offers free, confidential services to victims of a crime, regardless of whether the crime has been reported, a charge has been laid, or the accused has been convicted. Types of crime can include family violence and sexual assault, criminal harassment, physical violence and threats, property crimes and theft, and impaired driving. Provides crisis support with no appointment; informs victims of their rights, options, and the court process; helps victims develop a safety plan, apply for protective court orders, and prepare Victim Impact Statements and Community Impact Statements; and provides emergency practical support. Hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday; no appointment required. After-hours help is through VictimLink BC (1-800-563-0808) or your local RCMP detachment. Serves Watson Lake, as well as Good Hope Lake and Lower Post in BC.
