Thompson Rivers University (TRU) – Thompson Rivers University Community Legal Clinic (TRU CLC)
Provides free legal assistance and advice to those who meet low-income financial eligibility requirements. Services are provided by law students under the guidance of a supervising lawyer. Assists with a range of legal issues, including residential tenancy and housing, employment standards, small claims, human rights claims, consumer protection claims, and simple wills. Also helps to draft certain types of legal documents, including demand letters, powers of attorney, representation agreements, advance directives, and documents for small claims matters. Offered on a drop-in or by appointment basis. Open weekdays throughout the year when classes are in session; clinic hours vary. Funded by Law Foundation of BC.
